Making a backup

What to back up

1. The database — all content (pages, posts, settings, menu, account).
2. public/uploads/ — uploaded images.
3. config/config.php — database connection details (to restore on another server).

Database copy

• phpMyAdmin → select the database → Export → Quick → SQL. Or in DirectAdmin: MySQL Management → Backup.
• With SSH: mysqldump -u USER -p DATABASE > backup.sql.

File copy

Zip public/uploads/, config/config.php and, if possible, the whole folder, and keep it outside the website. Do not store these files in a public folder.

Restoring

1. Create a new database and load the SQL via phpMyAdmin → Import.
2. Put the files (code, public/uploads/, config/config.php, storage/installed.lock) on the server.
3. If the database details changed, update them in config/config.php.

Recommendation

Back up before every update and regularly (e.g. weekly). Version 1.1.0 has no automatic backup in the admin panel.
